New Beginnings

In this blog, I am documenting my life. I have come full circle, from trying to become a child of God to actually becoming one. It took me many years of self-deception and searching for something I could not describe to finally find Christ.

I have been busy.

Today I read a post about Frida Kahlo, whose life parallels mine in a sense. Frida was born in the early 1900's, and she suffered injuries which caused her to have a very miserable life. She painted many self portraits which indicated her great suffering, and she was very militant for her country, Mexico. As a child, she contracted the paralyzing disease of polio, with which she suffered for three years. She died in 1953, having married Diego Rivera, who was at her bedside.

As a graduate student, I did research on this person, but was not allowed to use it in my thesis. I also researched Carl Sandburg, who wrote "The Grass", which begins, "Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo/ Shovel them under and let me work." I was not allowed to use that, either.

Universities are very stubborn.

If you ever become a teacher, don't be stubborn; it makes no sense.

Peace.
